The sculpture is the branch of visual arts that operates in three dimensions. It is one of the plastic arts.

Carved sculpture is divided into two, indirect and direct carving. The sculptor starts with a solid mass of material and reduces it systematically to the desired form.

It is three dimensional because it provides from a background, but it also maintains a two-dimensional quality as compared to a full round sculpture

It involves making a mold and pouring a liquid material such as molten metal, plastic rubber, or fiberglass into the mold

It is an additive process. It means using a soft material to build up a shape or structure. The use of plastic stuff by hand to build-up form. Clay and wax are the most common modeling materials and the artist’s hands are the main tools, though metal and wood tools are often employed in shaping.

Naum Gabo, Marcel Duchamp, László Moholy Nagy, and Alexander Calder were pioneers of modern kinetic sculpture.
