Autism

Autism is also called spectrum disorder(ASD), it is a complicated condition that comprises issues with communication and behavior. People with autism might have issues with learning, their skills may develop unevenly.

Types of autism

Before 2013, health practitioners defined four types of autism:
Autism Spectrum Disorder.
Asperger’s syndrome.
Pervasive developmental disorder .
Childhood Disintegrative disorder.

Asperger’s syndrome is no longer known as official diagnosis, it is now called level 1 Autism spectrum disorder.

Persuasive Developmental Disorder.
Kanner’s syndrome.

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Most people with this disorder are of normal or above normal intelligence and possess a strong verbal abilities but social communication is a great challenge

Childhood Disintegrative Disorder

This type of disorder occurs when a child who is about to hit a milestone in his developmental pace like walking and talking, he begins to retrogress. This type of autism most time crushes parents as it brings about fear and confusion.

Kanner’ syndrome

This is the type of syndrome that whenever a child with autism disorder is being discussed, this is what is normally pictured. The symptoms include challenges in communication, understanding others, virtually no eye contact, hypersensitivity to stimuli.

Pervasive Developmental Disorder

This is a type of disorder characterised by delays in the development of socialization and communication skills. Symptoms include difficulty relating to people, objects and events, unusual play with toys and other objects
